چکیده

A combination of crystallographic and mutagenesis studies on the HERG K+ channel, a key determinant of cardiac excitability, has suggested how the protein's extramembraneous amino-terminal domain might act as a 'molecular brake' that slows down channel deactivation.

Simulation study of the transport properties of ions through ion channels serving as primary components of a nanobiosensor

Ion channels are naturally occurring pores through the proteins that regulate the passage of ions and thus maintain the concentration of ions inside and outside the cell. The ion channels control many physiological functions and they can show selectivity for a specific ion. Ion channels are mostly observed in nerve cells and muscle cells. The influx of ions into cells can be regulated by a gate...

Energy study at different solvents for potassium Channel Protein by Monte Carlo, Molecular and Langevin Dynamics Simulations

Potassium Channels allow potassium flux and are essential for the generation of electric current acrossexcitable membranes. Potassium Channels are also the targets of various intracellular controlmechanisms; such that the suboptimal regulation of channel function might be related to pathologicalconditions. Realistic studies of ion current in biologic channels present a major challenge for compu...

Coordination and Siting of Cu+ Ion Adsorbed into Silicalite-2 Porous Structure: A Density Functional Theory Study

Coordination of Cu+ ions adsorbed on plausible sites of a silicalite-2 lattice has been investigated computationally via hybrid density functional theory method at the B3LYP/6-311+G* and B3LYP/Def2-TZVP levels of theory using molecular models of the active site. The symmetrical coordination of Cu+ ions to almost five oxygen atoms of the all-silica framework in six-membered ring (6MR) sites of t...

A molecular study on the endoplasmic reticulum potassium channels in hepatocytes

Introduction: It has recently been suggested that the KATP channel subunits Kir6.x and BKCa channels exist in the endoplasmic reticulum of cardiomyocytes and neurons. Our previous studies showed the electrophysiological behavior of cation channels in the rough endoplasmic reticulum (RER) of rat hepatocytes. Therefore, we hypothesized that KATP channels and Ca2+-activated potassium channels m...
